Lost in Daydreams

Did this picture right after I finished my last day of school EVER. It was just a day or two before my graduation, but it was sort of a picture to celebrate that I actually had the time to draw again!

Ariel, cause she's fun to draw when you have a random drawing mood. Done in blue Colerase, and shaded in that way, rather than colored in (cause it looks purdy). She's sitting on a rock, but I decided I liked the rock not lined over with pencil, just kind of being there. I'm really really happy with how this one came out. I think it's really pretty- I especially love her face and hands. I'm not the best with hands (as anyone who has watched me for a long time can tell you), but I'm really happy with BOTH of these! The one next to her face is exactly how I wanted it to come out, which almost never happens!

I had a ton of fun with her hair, too- Ariel's hair has so much you can do with it! I tend to think that Glenn Keane drew her with a whole lot of loose hair, just to have fun drawing it under water.

Have I mentioned I love posing mermaids? There's so much you can do with them that you couldn't do with someone who has legs, cause it would look weird.

Yay for being able to draw again! More on the way!
